Outside The Square Living Together
Date: Tuesday 15th March 2016
Time: 6.30pm
Venue: Level 1 of the Morley Johnson Building, 23 Mitchell Street, Bendigo
At Outside the Square we like to do things a little differently and next Tuesday is no exception!
First of all we are hosting this wonderful community gathering in a fabulous new space – the old Toyworld building with windows that show Bendigo from a different perspective. The first time an event like this has been held here since Radius moved into the building to create an amazing social enterprise with supported employment opportunities.
Secondly we have teed up a really interesting group of local people to talk from their perspectives about opportunities, challenges and initiatives that help create a connected, inclusive, supported and thriving community. This includes Sie Sie Thien, President of the Karen Organisation, John Parker, SES Coordinator and Greg Allan, Didgeridoo player who has been involved in various initiatives including starting a wheelchair supporter group for the Collingwood Football Club. This will be in a Q & A style with Jonathan Ridnell as the MC.
And thirdly we are hosting a world cafe style discussion to give attendees the opportunity to link up with existing initiatives and create new ideas.
We are celebrating all of our differences and highlighting that bringing different people together is a good and fun thing to do and we can all learn something from it. We don’t fully know the outcomes of the night because the outcomes are created by the people that attend and it’s in the conversations that the magic happens.
We are inviting everyone to be a part of this evening but you will need to book as places are filling fast. Register and help spread the word. Share a selfie of yourself and what makes you unique on your social media with #livingtogether to let everyone know you are attending and that you are part of this wonderfully different community!
