Places for Change – What’s Next?

Our second event of this years 2015 Outside the Square Active Spaces series Places for Change was a great success. In case you missed it, here is a summary of the outcomes from the night:

Community gathered and were interested to make positive changes to the
way we interact with our public and unused spaces in Bendigo.

What a great night !

– We brought together 100+ people from diverse backgrounds
– Everyone got involved in discussion
– People became more interested in activating public and unused spaces
– We heard from great speakers with inspiring projects
– And explored ways to get our projects off the ground

In all we shared many ideas, made new connections and identified new pathways for people to get involved and take action.

Check out our video snapshot of the night!

And finally ……

Places for Change was a milestone – that addressed the way we live and share spaces in our town.

With so many people with great ideas and passion to create change
through activating spaces, it once again confirmed that discussion is
essential as an impetus to make great things to happen.

Now we need some initiatives to keep the conversations going, as well as
ongoing support to enable and ground community projects.

If this is of interest to you, keep an eye out for:

  • “Let’s Nut it Out” Work Day to be programmed for early 2016
  • Expand Your Impact” Training Program – Still pending full funding ( while aiming for April 2016 )
If you would like to assist in making these programs happen either through sponsorship or in-kind support then please get in contact here.

Thanks again and all the best!
