Inspiration Cafe Redan, See You There!

A FREE community event is being held in Redan, at the new soccer facility (Morshead Park). Everyone is welcome to attend, connect with neighbours, share opinions and create new ideas!

This initiative is being run by not-for-profit Make a Change Australia, supported by the City of Ballarat. Make a Change works with people and communities across Victoria and beyond, to support and encourage positive change.

“Over the last few months we’ve been out and about talking to locals in Redan. We’ve been hearing what they love and also what they’d like to see happen in the future to strengthen the area and the community in Redan.” says Karen Corr of Make a Change,

“The upcoming event called “Inspiration Café Redan” is a chance to bring everyone together to continue the conversation, discuss further what is wanted and needed and share ideas on how to make it happen.”

Whether people live, work, go to school, play sport, shop or even socialise in Redan, everyone is welcome to attend.

Some terrific organisations have jumped on board to support this event, including: Phoenix P-12 Community College, Food is Free Inc, Playgroup Victoria, Breaze, YMCA, Sports Central, Ballarat Ultimate, Ballarat Community Health, Redan Football Netball Club and Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre.

The night, hosted by Power FM’s Julia Zass, will be a “party with a purpose” involving a fun and friendly format, and lots of ways to take part.

Abigail, a Yr 9 student from Phoenix College, is keen to come and represent the voice of younger people “We should have more community events sharing the treasures of Redan with the rest of Ballarat.”

Haydn from Redan Football Netball Club is interested to attend and link in with other community groups “Any forum where we can have people from different backgrounds have conversations as well as opportunities to share learnings and stories is a good thing.”

“When it comes to identifying change, no one knows better about what is needed at the local level than the locals. So I encourage as many Redan residents as possible to be involved in strengthening their community for years to come through this positive initiative.” says City of Ballarat Mayor Samantha McIntosh.

Thursday 1 March, 6.45pm – 9pm at the Ballarat Soccer Facility (Morshead Park).
A light supper will be provided. Registrations are required for catering
