Guest speakers for our Cycling Cities event

By July 25, 20148. General News

Our upcoming Outside the Square – Bendigo a Cycling City event is going to be a great night of inspiration and ideas. Check out our line up of guest speakers.

Trevor Budge AM,
Manager of Strategy at the City of Greater Bendigo
Trevor will provide a context to where Greater Bendigo is at as
a city and community in relation to active travel and transport more
broadly. He will discuss why it makes sense for cities around the world
to focus their efforts and resources on being more bicycle friendly and
why the time is right for Bendigo to take a lead.

Pip Carroll,
Found
er and Creative Director, The Squeaky Wheel
The Squeaky Wheel
is a not-for-profit producing and advocacy organisation celebrating
bicycles as vehicles for change, working in partnership with
individuals, councils, commercial and cultural organisations to present
bicycle tours, training, valet parking, campaigns and programming.

Andrew Talati, Bunchrides
Organising a group of people to go for a ride can be difficult;
sometimes it takes a lot of calls, texts and emails to get
going. Andrew will discuss how to make it much simpler. He will
demonstrate how using social media makes it easy for people to connect
and ride together.

Nicola Dunnicliff-Wells

Bike riding just makes sense for Nicola Dunnicliff-Wells and her family. As a mother of
three kids (aged 8, 7 and 2) she says that with regular commuting to school and other
activities her family eats better, sleeps better, and feels better. Nicola goes onto say
when they are riding regularly her family functions better (and they tend to yell a whole
lot less!).

Nicola will be speaking about how she makes everyday cycling possible as the lead up to an interactive discussion about how we can all make cycling possible in Bendigo.
