Clean Up Australia Day – Sunday 2nd March
A chance for all of us to pitch in & make a difference for our planet
Every year Australians throw away enough rubbish to fill 960,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools… that’s a lot of waste 😱
We can all make a difference – whether it’s in your local park or bushland, along a riverbank, or just your own local streets, every small effort helps the big picture
Getting involved is easy:
✅ Rally your family, friends, or community
✅ Grab some gloves, bags, & sunscreen
✅ Join a local clean-up or start your own via the official Clean Up Australia Day website
It’s more than just picking up rubbish – you can make a difference in your area that has a ripple effect for your local environment & wildlife, & you may even inspire others to do the same!

Are you an NFP feeling financially stretched?
You’re not alone – many nonprofits are stuck in a ‘starvation cycle,’ struggling to cover the essential costs that keep their programs running effectively
The Paul Ramsay Foundation is tackling this challenge head-on with their ‘Pay What It Takes’ (PWIT) policy. They’re shifting the conversation to ensure nonprofits get the funding they need – not just for programs but also for critical overheads like IT, marketing, & staff development
As Liz Yeo from PRF puts it : ‘We need to stop praising charities for their ability to deliver impact on the smell of an oily rag & instead properly fund them to do the complex & innovative work required to create long-term social change’
Underfunding doesn’t lead to efficiency – it holds organisations back from their full potential. If you’re running a nonprofit or thinking of starting one, let’s break the cycle together… Advocate for full-cost funding, educate stakeholders & invest in the tools your organsation needs to thrive. The future of your impact depends on it!
