Lyndon Galea’s simple idea Eat Up is making a big impact on school children’s lives in the community of Central Victoria.
Working in partnership with Bendigo Foodshare and TAFE’s apprentice chefs, Eat Up provides lunch to school kids who wouldn’t otherwise have food, free of charge. His great initiative has already proven it works. Eat Up has been operation in Shepparton since 2013.
As a student of Social Change Bendigo 101 his enterprise is mentored by Vanessa Hicks, Executive Officer of Australian Health Services Financial Management Association. Lyndon is currently establishing Eat Up in Bendigo, his big vision is to deliver Eat Up Nationally in
2015.
Mentoring for Lyndon has given his enterprise structure and strategy. Eat up started as a very loose and informal idea driven by a passion to try and help. With Vanessa’s mentoring he now has a clear plan of how he will grow Eat Up to become a National program.
Vanessa catches up with Lyndon on a regular basis. Her time invested harness Lyndon’s energy and great ideas to make a difference. She sees her role as a mentor to not only assist Lyndon achieve his goals, but ultimately she is giving back to our community.
